Plate Tectonics

As part of a spring 2015 university-wide course headed by Duke University’s Dean of Arts and Sciences, Laurie Patton, Professor Charlie Thompson and filmmaker Brooke Shuman made these videos for showing to the class of approximately 150 students each week, usually before our lectures began. The videos added immensely to the discussions in both large and small groups. Here we share the series, which we call in their entirety “Plate Tectonics,” with the wider public. Please feel free to use these for educational purposes, leaving intact the credits as inserted in the film. Clips are not to be used out of context. Copyright 2015.
